Our Projects

Transforming an unusable space with little value into a usable space was the key objective of this project. This was achieved by creating an opening in an existing wall through into the small area nestled between buildings. A covered composite deck area was installed to allow children an outdoor space that can be used in any weather.

The initial scope of this project included 4695 meters of 250mm PN16 polyethylene watermain, including all fire hydrants, sluice valves, air valves and relevant markers. This was installed close to existing services within the berm area of rural Cheviot. Total Projects managed all aspects of this work, welding, trenching, laying, backfilling, compaction, testing and connection to existing network. Upon successful completion of the initial scope of works, Total Projects then completed a further 1500 meters of watermain to extend the project.

The scope for this project involved a full like for like upgrade to the existing Block 7 bathrooms and cloakrooms. This included removal of an existing heating system, re-lining of walls, new flooring, painting, new sanitary fixtures, new double glazed aluminium windows, new hot water cylinder and plumbing including hot water to bathrooms and classrooms.

Total Projects successfully tendered this 17 lot subdivision in Rangiora. Total Projects were the main contractor and completed all aspects of this project, including drainage, water, services, footpaths, roading, earthworks, retaining walls, traffic management and overall project management. The earthworks portion of this subdivision included removal of contaminated soil to landfill. Connection to existing services for both water and drainage services were performed in the road corridor with an emphasis on minimising traffic disruption while keeping quality workmanship to the fore.

The project scope included upgrades to two blocks for Universal School Bathrooms (USB) including building work required for an extension to include a hallway to increase space for the USB, full strip out, break out and lay of new concrete floor to level, straightening of walls and linings, installation of a new cavity slider into existing hallway, floor and wall vinyl (wet room)installation, shower, toilet and basin fittings, new electric change table and associated sanitary fittings.

Waikari School engaged Total Projects to replace outdated cabinetry within learning spaces. Spacious new cabinets were supplied within budget that exceeded initial scope and expectations. This project included re configuring the schools office space to a more functional layout, laying carpet tiles and Autex acoustic wall coverings.

Total Projects were engaged to install new Autex acoustic wall coverings in 5 classrooms at Cheviot Area School. Our installation team completed the installation outside of school hours to minimise class disruptions and to allow installation to be completed to a high standard. Total Projects can offer a wide array of colours and styles of acoustic lining installation.

The old iron roofing was in poor condition on block 7. We checked roof and structural condition and replaced with new coloursteel roofing. Demolition of the old roofing iron was completed and the roof structure confirmed to be in good condition. New building paper, iron, guttering and down pipes were installed.

The scope for this project involved following architectural plans to reconfigure two bathroom and cloakroom areas in Block 2 and replace with new wall linings, flooring, painting, sanitary fixtures, aluminium double glazed windows and doors and Salto security system.  Block 1 involved the demolition of two old bathroom areas and replace with new wall linings, flooring, painting, sanitary fixtures, aluminium double glazed windows and hot water cylinders. Both blocks required significant wall straightening and foundation repairs to complete the project to a high standard.

The main tasks involved in the contract were: The installation of approximately 3,450 metres of DN180 PE100 PN12.5 polyethylene pipe, including approximately 500 metres of DN63 PE80 PN12.5 polyethylene pipe in a common trench.

The installation of two DN180 road crossings and the installation of four DN125 road crossings achieved using directional drilling. The project also included installation of valves, fire hydrants, gate valves, and connections to existing watermains in conjunction with the installation of the new watermain, including testing, sterilisation and commissioning.

Total Projects was also responsible for all health, safety and environmental aspects of the project and the re-instatement of all surfaces.

Total Projects was the nominated contractor for the 3 Waters and Services installation for this 14-lot subdivision on Woodend Beach Road. This included 500m of pressure sewer and the associated boundary kits, 100m of 300mm on grade stormwater, manholes and sumps, 600m of potable water systems ranging from 150mm down to the toby connections. Total Projects was responsible for the service trenching, installation, backfill and reinstatement of all service trenches. Installation included laying of pipe, EF welding joints, valve sets, hydrants and all surface features to WDC COP. Total Projects managed and coordinated with all the other subcontractors for installation within the service trenching, this included Mainpower and Chorus.

Total Projects was subcontracted to trench and install all 3 waters systems in this 18 lot rural subdivision. This included over 1km of electrofusion welded 63mm pressure sewer and boundary kits, over 1km of electrofusion welded 63mm potable water systems and toby installation.

Contracted to install a commercial grade wastewater treatment system for the Kowhai Downs Subdivision in Kaikoura. The SAF 20 wastewater treatment system which comprises of 5 main concrete tanks creating a multiple stage aerated secondary septic treatment dispersing through a 750m² 2a sand filter land application system.

Total Projects was awarded the contract to build a new toilet block and wastewater system for the Department of Conservation at Ngakuta Bay in the Marlborough Sounds. This job was situated approximately 10m from the high tide mark, so environmental and erosion and sediment management were a major factor for these works. The works involved the demolition of the existing toilet block, installation of a modern architecturally designed 3-unit toilet block complete with a new power connection, secondary septic system complete with aerated land application system, upgrade to the parking area and new timber bollards throughout site. The works had to be completed mostly over the winter period, so water runoff and site conditions added a layer of complexity to this job.

Total Projects were engaged to project manage the sub-contractor group that won the water and drainage part of the contract for the new Fire and Emergency building in Kaikoura in 2022. This build was an IL4 level building. As part of this we liaised with the lead contractor and also project managed the contract works for all 3 waters disciplines which included all aspects of stormwater management, installation of an Upflo filter system, oil and grit interceptor and multiple manholes and pipes up to 375mm in diameter. Total Projects completed the physical installation of all potable water services including a 100mm RPZ, an additional 32mm RPZ, electrofusion welding of 125mm PE PN16 watermain, washdown cabinet with stainless steel hose reel and architecturally designed on site water storage.

After a major flooding event Total Projects were engaged to install a new stormwater structure to ensure access was maintained to this rural property. Liaison with Hiab operators in this remote location was key to a timely installation and a satisfied client.
